PRIESTESS Begins Recording New Album, Prepares To Hit The Road
October 6, 2008The Montreal foursome PRIESTESS is recording tracks this fall in Los Angeles with producer Dave Schiffman (ANTI-FLAG, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, SYSTEM OF A DOWN) for the band's follow-up to its acclaimed 2006 debut, "Hello Master". After leaving the studio, PRIESTESS will tour Canada and the Northeastern U.S. this winter, performing new material from the upcoming album set for an early 2009.
"I'm happy to say that it's going extremely well," says PRIESTESS frontman Mikey Heppner, who couldn’t hide his excitement to finally be back in the studio. "Coming from a dude who has only made one record prior to this one I'm still going to say it's the best shit we've ever done, and we can't wait to put it out!"
PRIESTESS spent 2008 on the road, converting new fans while opening for MASTODON and playing a number of summer festivals with IRON MAIDEN. The band's popularity continues to reach an even wider audience, thanks to the inclusion of its song "Lay Down" on the extremely popular video game Guitar Hero. The snarling blast of relentless energy and infectious riffs pushed the song onto the iTunes singles chart.
PRIESTESS' video for the song "Lay Down" can be viewed below. The clip was shot with director Wendy Morgan of Revolver Productions.
